Request for Proposals – Project implementation and advisory services in Turkmenistan
IUCN is inviting proposals from qualified teams or organisations to support the implementation of the One Health in nature conservation in Central Asia project activities in Turkmenistan. This project focuses on reducing zoonotic disease emergence and spread in Central Asia by integrating conservation measures across natural and socio-cultural landscapes. The One Health approach lies at the heart of this initiative, recognising the interconnected health of humans, domestic and wild animals, plants, and the wider environment.
Activities in Turkmenistan will focus on species monitoring, governance assessments, and technical advisory support for priority sites that include, but are not limited to Koytendag, Repetek, Bereketli Garagum, Kaplankyr, Sunt Hasardag, Balkan Range and Ustyurt Plateau. Target species include the Transcaspian Urial, Markhor, Persian leopard, Goitered gazelle, Kulan, rodents, bats, and migratory waterbirds, among others.
The selected team will lead project implementation and provide technical guidance to partners and protected area staff on the ground.
