Join GIZ to support climate action in Central Asia!
The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) is seeking a Junior Climate Change Specialist to contribute to two key initiatives under the Green Central Asia framework. The role will focus on strengthening Uzbekistan’s capacity to access international climate finance, particularly the Green Climate Fund, and developing a regional climate project in the AFOLU sector.

Key responsibilities:

• Assist the National Climate Center with project planning, implementation, and monitoring

  
  

• Support institutional strengthening, climate finance readiness, and stakeholder engagement

  
  

• Organize capacity development activities and multi-level coordination events

  
  

• Manage documentation, communication, and internal control processes

  
  

Requirements:

• University degree in environmental or related fields

  
  

• At least 3 years of experience in climate policy or finance projects

  
  

• Knowledge of the AFOLU sector and strong organizational skills

  
  

• Fluency in English and Russian; Uzbek is a plus
